In most of the world this week we asked how Israel and Palestine can achieve peace. Despite the war in Gaza, talk of a two-state solution will not go away. Do not dwell on the many ways the peace process could go wrong, but on bolstering the real possibility that it could go right.

In Britain we looked at how a rising awareness of mental disorders may be doing more harm than good. Such campaigns may conflate normal responses to life’s difficulties with illness, leading to the medicalisation of mild cases. That is drawing resources away from the treatment of severe mental illnesses.
