Chennai-based VBJ (Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers) plans to look at going public in three to four years.
VBJ Managing Directors Amarendran Vummidi and Jithendra Vummidi told The Hindu on Sunday that the company is looking at a topline of ₹3,000 crore during the 2026-2027 financial year and plans to achieve ₹5,000 annual revenue in a couple of years. “We should be able to achieve ₹10,000 crore turnover in three years. We will look at IPO then,” said Mr. Amarendran Vummidi.
The growth in revenue will come from the brand expanding its footprint and with the increasing value of gold.
VBJ opened a 21,000 sq.ft outlet in Coimbatore on Sunday at a total investment of ₹900 crore (land, building, and stock) and will open outlets in Tiruchi, Hyderabad, and T-Nagar by the end of the current fiscal. It will invest ₹350 crore each in Chrompet, T-Nagar, and Tiruchi, they added. With one outlet in Texas, another one is planned in California in January.
“Today, every brand is expanding its footprint. Geographically, we need to be close to the customers. The market is there for everyone to epxand. Our brand has patronage and demand for new stores. With the products, we do not want to lose focus on new designs,” added Mr. Jithendra Vummidi on opening of new stores.
VBJ is also developing technology in house to reach out to young customers with digi gold.
