Model Mahnoor Rahim alleges inappropriate messages from producer Umer Mukhtar | The Express Tribune

Hania Aamir, said to be friends with Mukhtar, says she had no knowledge of or involvement in the matter raised online

Pakistani model Mahnoor Rahim has publicly accused TV producer Umer Mukhtar of sending inappropriate messages to women online.

In a video uploaded on Instagram this week, Mahnoor claimed that despite being married, Mukhtar repeatedly tried to contact women for personal conversations.

Sharing her own experience, she said that in 2023, while in Canada, a producer messaged her at 3am. She initially assumed it was work-related, but he only wanted to chat.

Mahnoor immediately confronted him and shared the screenshots with his wife. According to her, he had falsely claimed to be single, to which she replied, “Thank you for telling me.”

While Mahnoor did not name Mukhtar in her first video, social media users quickly identified the producer in question.

She later released a follow-up video, saying many women and even underage girls had reached out to her, sharing similar experiences.

Mukhtar is known for his connections within Pakistan’s showbiz industry. He is often seen with Hania Aamir at events, including her recent wedding-themed birthday party, and has also been photographed with actors like Mahira Khan.

Meanwhile, Hania has put out a statement on her Instagram, denying having any knowledge of the alleged harassment or endorsing it in any way, shape or form.

“I hold a zero-tolerance stance toward harassment, exploitation, and any conduct that compromises the safety and dignity of women and girls. These are serious realities that must always be treated with gravity and respect. I support the courage it takes to come forward and stand firmly for environments where every woman and girl feels safe, heard, and protected,” the actor stated.

Moreover, she publicly stated that she will be distancing herself from “the individual being discussed,” in line with her commitments to accountability and respect.

“My commitment remains to accountability, respect, and fostering safer spaces across all industries and communities. We all share a responsibility to challenge harmful behaviour, support those who speak up, and uphold standards that protect the dignity and safety of women and girls at all times,” she added.
