Tamil Nadu left-arm spinner R. Sai Kishore, who sustained a fracture in the ring finger of his bowling hand in a TNCA first division league match and subsequently missed the Duleep Trophy, bowled in the nets at the SNR College cricket ground here on Tuesday.
He said he’s all set to return for Tamil Nadu’s third Ranji Trophy fixture against Vidarbha, to be played here from November 1 to 4.
“I had to get surgery done. I used this time to become very fit. This is the fittest I’ve felt in the last five years. I’ve been bowling for the last two weeks. I’ll miss a maximum of two games,” he said after the team practice.
On his two-match county stint with Surrey in July, he said: “It gave me a lot of confidence that I belong at the highest level. The wickets are flatter there. And there’s more responsibility. They will just give you the ball and expect you to win the game. Out of the 14 matches, they play four games with the Kookaburra ball to make life challenging for the bowlers. So, performing with the Kookaburra ball (one five-wicket haul) was even more satisfying”.
