Leading Pakistani actors Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, and Fawad Khan have strongly condemned India’s recent military aggression, which resulted in the martyrdom of 26 civiliansm, including children, and injuries to at least 46 others in overnight airstrikes targeting multiple civilian areas across Pakistan.

Mahira Khan reposted a tweet by writer Fatima Bhutto criticising the Indian attack.

Adding her voice on Instagram, Mahira called the strikes “seriously cowardly” and prayed, “May Allah protect our country, may better sense prevail. Ameen.”

Actress Hania Aamir also spoke out, stating, “You don’t bomb innocent people and call it strategy,” in a sharp rebuke of the Indian strikes.

Fawad Khan also condemned the attack, calling it “shameful” in an Instagram story. He added, “May better sense prevail. Inshallah. Pakistan Zindabad.”

The backlash from Pakistan’s entertainment industry comes as India attempts to justify the attack in the wake of the April 22 incident in Pahalgam in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), despite offering no concrete evidence linking Pakistan to the attack.

Previously, several prominent Pakistani celebrity accounts, including those of Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, and Ali Zafar, were banned in India.

Meanwhile, the DG ISPR said that India carried out 24 airstrikes on six different locations inside Pakistani territory.

He said that 13 people were martyred in Bahawalpur’s Ahmedpur East area. The deceased included two three-year-old girls, seven women, and four men. In addition, 37 individuals were injured, including nine women and 28 men.

In a separate incident near Muzaffarabad, a strike on Bilal Mosque resulted in three fatalities, while two children — a girl and a boy — sustained injuries, he added.
