Coles has launched a series of frozen items based on the hit Netflix television shows Stranger Things and Squid Games.

For instance, there are three flavours of ice cream based on Scoops Ahoy, where characters Steve and Robyn work in season two of Stranger Things.

The flavours include U.S.S Butterscotch, Cinnamon Buns and Vanilla and Cookies, with each one litre tub costing $10.

There is also Hellfire Club spicy wing nibbles, based on Eddie Munson’s Dungeons and Dragons group and Surfer Boy Pizza in Hawaiian and Pepperoni.

Meanwhile, Squid Game fans can create their own dinner table game with a nine pack of BBQ chicken nuggets in the shape of triangles, circles and squares and stuffed potato mashies with red and green filling.

Tim Lane, the Coles’ business category manager for frozen food, said the supermarket was excited to be partnering Netflix on the new items.

“Following the success of Stranger Things and Squid Game in Australia, we know our customers will love being able to bring to life their favourite shows at home and experience them in a brand-new way,” he said.

“We’re committed to working with suppliers to expand and diversify our product offering and this innovative range draws on inspiration from the concepts and brands fans have seen throughout the shows, with products you can’t find anywhere else in Australia that we think will be a lot of fun.”

One social media user said: “Gotta check my Coles again today for the ice cream, they were just putting out the Squid Games things yesterday.”

Another said: “The ice cream was incredible! it’s my new favourite.”

One said: “I’m gonna f**k that butterscotch up if you see someone with a math equation amount of scoops ahoy u.s.s butterscotch mind your business it’s me.”

The range is available nationally – but only for a limited time.
