Silentsar produced the performance of his career to win first-up from a break with a dominant front running success at Canterbury on July 23.

The talented son of Russian Revolution lugged 61kg in the triumph but has been kept fresh since the win as Ryan and co-trainer Sterling Alexiou attempt to double the dose at the midweeks.

He will have his first start in six weeks in the Kia Ora Prague Benchmark 72 (1250m).

“Silentsar was really good first-up but he took a while to get over it because he runs so hard he knocks himself out a bit,” Ryan said.

“It was either run him over 1250m two weeks ago or wait and go five weeks between runs and run him in an 1100m.

“We thought we would wait that little bit longer with him.

“He appears to be going good and is holding his form.”

Silentsar is a $4 TAB favourite to continue to add his third victory in nine starts with Lavish Empire a $4.80 second elect.

He has always shown ability to Ryan and Alexiou but only broke his maiden earlier this year when he claimed the lucrative $250,000 Magic Millions Maiden at the Gold Coast in January.

The now four-year-old went unplaced at his next two starts before returning from a spell with his dominant victory at Canterbury.

“He is a hyperactive horse,” Ryan said.

“He showed nice enough ability early and we aimed him at the Magic Millions Maiden and he got that done.

“The trip to Queensland, I know he went a while between runs but he didn’t bounce right back so that’s why we gave him more time.”

Ryan and Alexiou will chase a winning double on the afternoon with consistent campaigner Boston City to make his return in the Best Of Bordeaux @ Coolmore Benchmark 72 Handicap (1000m).

Boston City has built a competitive record with two wins and four placings in 10 starts and was a comfortable winner of his only trial in the lead up to his return.

“He has trialled as good as I’ve seen him run,” Ryan said.

“He probably needs to lift a little bit but he is going well and his fresh form is always good before tapering off a bit.

“I would have liked to have him ridden behind the speed on Wednesday but with the barrier he has drawn, he is going to land right there.”

With Josh Parr booked to ride, Boston City is a $7.50 contender to return a winner with the Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Sovereign Fund ($3.20 fav) the top pick.

Ryan and Alexiou had accepted with Casablanca in the TAB 3YO Maiden Plate (1300m) but it’s likely the regally bred son of Snitzel out of Group 1 winner Rising Romance will line up later in the week instead.

“We will probably wait and go to Goulburn on Friday with him,” Ryan said.

Ryan confirmed the stable’s smart colt General Salute will line up in Saturday’s $300,000 Group 2 Run To The Rose (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens.

The son of Russian Revolution finished fourth in the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes (1100m) first up and is an $11 TAB chance in All-In betting for the Run To The Rose.

Impressive sprinter Smashing Eagle will line up in a Benchmark 88 (1100m) while Vincenzo is set for a Benchmark 78 (2400m) on the same program.

Formidable team back to keep ball rolling

Chelmsford Stakes winning combo David Payne and Chad Schofield will look to keep momentum rolling when they join forces with emergency Intruder and first starter Kingsway at Randwick Kensington on Wednesday.

Schofield helped orchestrate the upset of last weekend when he booted home the Payne-trained Navajo Peak to win the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes as a $41 outsider.

Intruder ($8.50) is set to go around at a fraction of those odds when he goes in search of a breakthrough success at TAB 3YO Maiden Handicap (1300m).

The son of Epaulette was the third emergency but is set to gain a start and has drawn ideally in barrier one for the midweek assignment.

“I think the Kensington track will really suit him,” Payne said.

“He is an on pace horse and it tends to suit on paces like him so if he gets a run, he should run well.

“He has drawn (barrier) one too which should help him a lot.

“He ran fourth his last start but was only beaten less than a length so there was nothing in it.”

Schofield will also partner Kingsway ($31) in his debut in the James Squire Maiden Handicap (1550m).

A son of Akeed Mofeed, Kingsway finished third at his only trial this time in and is considered a work in progress.

“He is a nice horse but is still a bit green at the moment,” Payne said.

“If he can put it together, I think he will be competitive.

“I think he should settle midfield somewhere, fifth or sixth hopefully, and run a nice race.

“He has only had the one trial but he is fit enough.”

Payne has enlisted Adam Hyeronimus to continue his partnership with Monfelicity in the Schweppes Benchmark 72 Handicap (1800m).

Monfelicity has won over the same trip at Hawkesbury two starts ago before finishing a narrow second to Elettrica in a Midway event over 1800m at Rosehill Gardens last start.

“She is well and should be very competitive again,” Payne said.

“She has come through last start well and I think the 1800m to 2000m is perfect for her from a good draw.”

Meanwhile, Payne confirmed Navajo Peak had pulled up “really well” from his Chelmsford Stakes victory and was plotting his next test.

“I am quite happy with him,” Payne said.

“We will either go to the Newcastle Cup or the Kingston Town next with him.”
