Japan Airlines (JAL) announced on Thursday that its systems had returned to normal and same-day ticket sales had resumed after a cyberattack caused delays for some domestic and international flights.

The attack, which began at 7:24 a.m., disrupted both internal and external systems, forcing JAL to temporarily shut down a malfunctioning router and halt ticket sales for flights departing on Thursday.

Fortunately, the airline confirmed that no customer information was compromised, and there was no damage from computer viruses.

Meanwhile, ANA Holdings, Japan’s other major airline, reported no signs of an attack on its systems, according to a spokesperson.

In a separate incident, American Airlines briefly grounded all flights for an hour on Christmas Eve due to a technical issue involving network hardware, leading to widespread travel disruptions.
