Public service announcements call for carpooling, responsible consumption as Iran conflict drives up fuel prices

Amid rising national tension caused by increasing oil prices due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, several prominent Pakistani celebrities have stepped forward to promote fuel conservation through televised messages.

In their public service announcements, the figures expressed appreciation for the government’s measures to ensure the availability of petroleum products during a challenging period for the country. They acknowledged the efforts being made to stabilise supply and urged citizens to play their part in supporting the initiatives.

The celebrities emphasised the importance of responsible fuel consumption, highlighting that it is a collective duty to assist the government in its austerity drive, encouraging the public to use fuel judiciously and adopt practical steps to minimise unnecessary usage.

Among key recommendations were avoiding non-essential travel and reducing fuel wastage wherever possible. Citizens were also advised to consider carpooling and making use of ride-sharing applications to help decrease daily fuel consumption.

Such small but meaningful changes, they noted, could collectively make a significant difference.
