Pakistan is witnessing a strong upward trend in the export of non-traditional food items, a development that could prove positive for the country’s economy. A remarkable surge has been observed in Pakistan’s egg exports, and for the first time, shipments of eggs from Pakistan to the United States have also begun.
According to data from the Department of Animal Quarantine, between July 1, 2025, and now, Pakistan has exported 1,899,240 dozen eggs to the United States. The total value of these exports stands at $2.37 million. The department noted that during the current fiscal year, Pakistan’s egg exports have shown a significant increase.
Pakistan is exporting eggs to several countries including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Qatar, Somalia and Afghanistan, among others. Data shows that during fiscal year 2024-25, egg exports from Pakistan to the UAE were valued at $1.723 million, with Afghanistan following with egg exports worth $1.07 million, Hong Kong bought eggs worth $544,000, Bahrain got eggs worth $329,950, Kuwait bought $316,654 worth and Somalia exported eggs worth $241,000.
The Department of Animal Quarantine also confirmed that Pakistan has been exporting liquid eggs as well. During fiscal year 2024-25, Pakistan exported 1,169 metric tonnes of liquid eggs, valued at $2.612 million. Overall, Pakistan’s total egg exports in fiscal year 202425 amounted to $18.25 million, compared to $14 million in fiscal year 202324, reflecting a substantial year-on-year increase.
