In the video, posted on Instagram, the man is seen hurling the packages after struggling to stack them on a trolley while outside a retail store in Manly.

The man eventually picks up the parcels again and puts them back on the trolley as stunned onlookers walk past.

A spokesman for Australia Post told news.com.au that the organisation has “strict protocols in place” for team members when delivering parcels.

“These actions clearly do not align with the high standards we expect,” the spokesman said.

“The delivery driver has been identified and we will conduct a full investigation.”

Social media users were quick to make light of the situation.

One person wrote: “Don’t do that to my prezzies ya dog” with the hashtag #santawillbep***ed

Another joked: “that’s my Lynx Africa set ruined.”

Others stood up for the driver.

“This guys a legend, he delivers to my store and he’s always super helpful. Just because you’re seeing this video don’t jump on the bandwagon to slam him ffs,” one wrote.

While another described him as the “best delivery bloke there is”.

“I see him daily at my store and he’s always so nice.”
