Users can now access Apple’s music streaming service through local Apple accounts, with plans starting at Rs379
Apple Music is finally available in Pakistan, more than a decade after Apple first launched its music streaming service.
Subscriptions start at Rs379 per month for the Individual plan and Rs649 for the Family plan, with new users eligible for a one-month free trial.
Pakistan was among four countries added to Apple Music’s availability this week, alongside Albania, Brunei and Burkina Faso.
According to Apple Insider, the expansion was spotted through Apple’s Media Services availability information on September 30.
Apple Music first launched in June 2015, initially rolling out across more than 100 countries. Pakistan, however, remained off the list for the next 11 years, leaving users unable to officially subscribe through a Pakistan-based Apple account.
That has now changed, with Pakistani users gaining official access to Apple’s catalogue of songs, albums and playlists, as well as features including personalised recommendations, offline downloads and, where supported, lossless and Dolby Atmos audio.
For Apple users, the biggest change is that Apple Music is now officially integrated into the local Apple ecosystem. Subscribers can access the service through the Music app on compatible devices without relying on a different regional account.
The arrival also brings Pakistan in line with several other Asian and Middle Eastern markets where Apple Music has been available for years, including India, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Indonesia and Japan.
While the launch does not mean all of Apple’s services are now available in Pakistan, Apple Music marks a notable addition to the company’s offerings in the country.
