BOLINGBROOK, Ill.—CosMc’s has landed, but visiting now may take a few eons.

McDonald’s new restaurant concept is drawing long lines of curiosity seekers since it opened in this Chicago suburb last weekend. The space-themed brand is the fast-food giant’s first new U.S. restaurant concept in its more than 60-year history, designed to deliver a beverage-heavy menu through takeout-focused locations built with multiple drive-throughs.
