Sanjay Dutt calls Wasim Akram ‘God of cricket’ | The Express Tribune

In a heartwarming display of camaraderie, Pakistani cricket legend Wasim Akram and Bollywood’s beloved actor Sanjay Dutt recently met up and clicked a memorable picture that has taken social media by storm.

Akram, renowned for his illustrious cricket career and often referred to as the ‘Sultan of Swing,’ expressed his delight at meeting Dutt. The cricket legend took to his official Instagram handle, posting the picture with a caption that read, “Great to see my buddy Sanjay Dutt almost after a decade, humble as always.”

The picture shows the two celebrities holding each other’s hands with the Munna Bhai MBBS actor giving a thumbs up and Akram making a ‘rock on’ hand gesture. As per the former cricketer’s post, the two celebs appear to share a long friendship, with hashtag ‘old friendships’ hinting at their close dynamic.

Akram also added hashtag ‘khalnayak’ to the post, referring to Dutt’s 1993 blockbuster hit Khal Nayak in which he essayed one of the most popular and beloved villains of all time, Balaram Prasad ‘Ballu,’ starring opposite Madhuri Dixit as his love interest.

Dutt reciprocated the warmth in a brief clip circulating on social media. In the clip, the Bollywood veteran expresses his appreciation for the Pakistani cricketer, remarking, “I am honoured to be here with Wasim Bhai. He is a brother I have known for many years and one of the greatest cricketers I have seen in my entire life.”

Underscoring Akram’s legacy in the sport, Dutt went on to call say, “Wasim Bhai, God of cricket, thank you.”

And his reverse swing, my God. Everyone would be afraid of him.” The B-Town legend is set to hit the big screen next on March 8, 2024, with his debut Telugu film Double iSmart. Penned as a sequel to the South sci-fi action blockbuster iSmart Shankar, fans can expect to see Dutt in the role of ‘Big Bull,’ donning a sassy hairdo and cryptic tattoos on his face and fingers.
