16yo sensation Luke Littler stuns darts by making world championship final

Luke Littler is one step away from immortality after qualifying for the final of the World Darts Championship at age 16.

The English sensation was in sublime form as he cruised to a 6-2 victory over 2018 champion Rob Cross in Wednesday morning’s semi-final.

“It’s utterly mind-boggling,” one commentator said.

Littler, who has captured the imagination of the British public and the wider darts world, will face the winner of a semi-final between Luke Humphries and Scott Williams.

“It’s crazy to think I’m in a world championship final on my debut,” Littler said. “I was lucky to win one game.

“I’ve got no words.”

Littler has become a household name in recent weeks amid his incredible success.

He became the youngest semi-finalist of the world darts championships at 16 years of age after smashing Brendan Dolan 5-1 in the quarters.

By qualifying for the final — which will be played on Thursday morning (AEDT) — he is already guaranteed a cash prize of $370,000.

If he wins the final he will take home more than $930,000.

With all that money he will be able to buy himself a car – ready for when he turns 17 and learns to drive later this month.

Speaking to The Telegraph, he said: “I always treat myself to some Under Armour tracksuits.

“And just get myself a new coat and get myself some Fifa points for my Xbox. That’s pretty much it.”
