SpaceX has revealed new target launch date for its triple-booster Falcon Heavy rocket, which can carry experimental space plane to orbit for the US Space Force. After four failed attempts, the rocket will launch on December 28.

Previously, poor weather conditions at the launch site at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, and an unspecified “side issue” on the ground, were among the few reasons that the mission was delayed from launch. The private space company will be launching the rocket for the eighth time in five years, and has avoided any allusions that the rocket may defects or problems in its system.

The Falcon Heavy will pack 5.5 million pounds of thrust at launch, providing quite a spectacle when it lifts off. The rocket will be deployed in Space Force’s X-37B space plane on its seventh mission since its first in 2010. According to the Space Force, the space shuttle will be conducting various tests like flying in “new orbital regimes, experimenting with future space domain awareness technologies, and investigating the radiation effects on materials provided by NASA.”
