Open Text agreed to divest its application modernization and connectivity business to Rocket Software for about $2.28 billion in cash.

Open Text, which develops and markets enterprise information management software and solutions, said the deal reinforces and expands its focus on the cloud and artificial intelligence and results in more predictable growth.
