Merub Ali’s travels seem to have taken her to the coveted and breathtaking site that is the Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib. The young star posted a series of images of herself at the location. In one image, Merub can be seen wearing all-black, with pink and orange dupattas adorning her head and shoulders. The image is framed by what seems to be an entrance arch. The second post in the carousel is a video of her walking, her face covered by a black mask. The third image captures the scenic view.

Despite the harmless nature of the images, Merub found herself being questioned about her decision to visit the site. Many took to her comments, angrily demanding answers as to why the star had stepped foot inside the site, considered to be one of the holiest sites in Sikhism. “You shouldn’t have gone to [the] gurdwara,” commented one user, horrifyingly adding the vomit emoji alongside.

Another Instagram user rudely asked, “You haven’t become a Sikh, have you? You don’t go to a mosque but you definitely want to go to the worship places of disbelievers.” However, Merub did not take the comment sitting down and hit back with a fitting response. “News flash,” she began. “Anyone can go to a gurdwara! You should go too. The people were really kind there. Maybe you can learn a thing or two.” The star added the white heart emoji alongside.

Kartarpur Sahib, also known as Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur, is a significant Sikh place of worship in Kartarpur, Pakistan. It holds historical importance as it is built on the site where Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, settled after his missionary travels. Guru Nanak lived here for 18 years until his passing in 1539. This gurdwara is revered as one of the holiest sites in Sikhism, alongside the Golden Temple in Amritsar and Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib.

It is situated near the Pakistan-India border, Kartarpur Sahib is visible from the Indian side, attracting large gatherings of Indian Sikhs for sacred viewing. Additionally, the gurdwara is claimed to be the world’s largest.
