LIV Golf’s Adelaide return confirmed

LIV Golf’s return to Adelaide has been confirmed by the Saudi breakaway league’s chief Greg Norman.

Having attracted more than 77,000 to Australia’s inaugural LIV event this year at The Grange, LIV has again included the venue on its 2024 schedule.

“The inaugural LIV Golf Adelaide showed the world how global audiences are embracing LIV Golf, which is breathing new life into the sport,” LIV commissioner and chief executive Norman said in announcing the April 26-28 dates for the return to The Grange.

“It was the highlight tournament of our league’s first official season and a historic demonstration of competition, entertainment and fanfare that golf fans deserve.

“South Australia knows how to put on a show, and we look forward to seeing The Grange Golf Club set yet another elevated benchmark for the league as we raise the bar even higher in 2024.”

This year’s LIV Adelaide tournament, which was won by American Talor Gooch was adjudged the world’s best golf event of 2023 at the World Golf Awards.

The Adelaide field is set to again include 2022 British Open champion winner Cameron Smith, as well as a host of other major winners, including Broolks Koepka, Dustin Johnson. Bryson De Chambeau. Bubba Watson and Phil Mickelson.

“The first edition of LIV Golf Adelaide was epic,” Australian star and Ripper GC captain Smith said.

“The fans, the noise and golf we saw were all next level … we thrived on the energy of the crowd. Now it’s time to go again.

“I’m so excited to be heading to Adelaide for LIV Golf in April.”
