With Holmes being selected in today’s Kangaroos squad for the Pacific Championships, the suspension will be served in the first Test of the Championships, which will be against Samoa in Townsville on October 14.

He will be eligible to play his next game against New Zealand in Melbourne on October 28.

Holmes’ premiership teammate, Paul Gallen, hit out at his “stupidity” in a column for Wide World of Sports.

“When I was told Holmes had actually posted the photo himself to his own social media page I almost couldn’t believe it,” Gallen wrote.

“What a dumb thing to do. It’s basically the height of stupidity if that is what actually happened.”
