Toronto police are looking for suspects after a man died in a North York apartment following reports of a disturbance.

Officers were called to an apartment building in the area of Flemington Road and Blossom Field Drive around 8:20 a.m. Sunday, police said. Responders were called for an echoed tier response, meaning a life threatening emergency.

A man in his early 30s was found in the home with “obvious traumatic injuries,” police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has not yet been identified.

Police said several people fled the fourth floor unit before officers arrived at the scene, including one person believed to be the suspect. Investigators could not confirm how many people were inside the unit at the time, or whose unit it is.

“I don’t believe the victim lived in this unit,” Det. Sgt. Sageev Nair said.

Police have not released any suspect descriptions but said the people who fled were last seen heading northbound out of the building.

Local Coun. Michael Colle said it is unsettling news for those who live in the area.

“We are all disgusted and distraught that another person has lost their life,” he said.

Police are continuing to canvass the scene and speak with residents in the area, but anyone with information is asked to come forward.
