Actor mimics legendary singer’s style, expressions while making it clear she was only paying tribute to an inspiration

Actor and model Mamya Shajaffar recently gave fans a delightful surprise by taking on the challenge of hitting a Noor Jehan note, showing off her own sweet singing voice in the process.

Shajaffar shared a video on Instagram in which she attempted to recreate a moment inspired by the legendary singer. Keeping things light-hearted, she wrote in the caption, “Don’t come at me, I love her.”

The video first featured a clip of Noor Jehan’s incredible singing before Shajaffar appeared on screen to explain her attempt. “Hear me out. I’m not saying I can do this. No comparison, she’s the queen, but because she’s an inspiration, let me try,” she said.

Shajaffar then took her turn, attempting to match the iconic singer’s style while mimicking her smile and expressions. While she was quick to make it clear that she was not comparing herself with Noor Jehan, her playful performance appeared to win over viewers.

Fans and fellow celebrities soon filled the comments section with praise for her attempt and her pleasant voice. Among those reacting were actors Sajal Aly and Saheefa Jabbar Khattak, who left heart emojis in support.

The video is another example of Shajaffar embracing fun, nostalgic and traditional trends on social media. The actor has recently been experimenting with different dances, looks and songs, often bringing her playful personality to the content she shares with her followers.

Just days earlier, Shajaffar shared a video of herself dancing in her bedroom to Asha Bhosle’s classic track Lucky Lips. Recalling her childhood, she wrote, “Me in class 5, dancing to this song in the bathroom. Me still.”

From revisiting childhood memories to paying tribute to musical legends, Shajaffar’s recent posts have shown a more carefree and playful side of the actor. Her Noor Jehan-inspired singing attempt, in particular, gave fans a chance to see her having fun with music while celebrating an artist she clearly admires.
