FBR cancels weekend holiday, extends office hours to ensure year-end tax collection

ISLAMABAD:
The Federal Board of Revenue has announced the cancellation of the Saturday holiday on December 27 to facilitate taxpayers and ensure timely collection of all taxes including duties before the end of the year.
According to a circular issued by the Federal Board of Revenue, all major tax offices operating under the chief commissioners of Inland Revenue will remain open on Saturday, December 27, 2025. These include Large Tax Offices (LTOs), Medium Taxpayers Offices (MTOs), Corporate Tax Offices (CTOs), and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs), which will function according to their normal working schedules.
The FBR further stated that, in order to ensure maximum revenue collection, office hours will be extended on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. On that day, all relevant tax offices will remain open until 10:00pm.

The authority clarified that these measures have been taken to facilitate taxpayers and to ensure the timely and effective collection of all taxes before the close of the 2025 fiscal year.
