In an Instagram Story shared on Sunday, Yashma Gill mourned the demise of her cat Jojo in a heartfelt note. “Yesterday, I lost a piece of my heart,” she announced.

“Jojo wasn’t just a cat. He was my baby, my family, my everything. He was there for me through times of joy and heartbreak, with his quiet love and knowing eyes. He depended on me, trusted me, loved me unconditionally, and I did the same. He made my house a home, my heart a little fuller, my life a little brighter. Losing him feels like losing a child and a part of my soul,” she wrote.

The Haq Mehar actor also dedicated a bittersweet carousel to her departed companion, sharing several video clips of Jojo’s little, domestic adventures. “Yesterday, I had to say goodbye to my child, my Jojo. My heart is shattered, and the silence without you is unbearable,” she penned.

“You were more than just a cat. You were my companion, my comfort, my little piece of joy, and literally the beat to my heart,” Yashma continued. “I’ll miss your gentle purrs, your warm presence, those eyes and the way you always knew when I needed you most. It feels impossible to let go, but I know you’re at peace now. I’ll carry your love with me forever. Rest well, my precious Jojo. You’ll never be forgotten.”

Pet keepers understood Yashma’s grief all too well, as many poured their condolences in the comments section. While many felt sorry for the actor’s loss, others couldn’t help but share their own tragic experiences with the passing of their feline friends. Relating to Yashma’s pain, a user wrote, “My cat died last week. I know how she feels.”

Others were quick to lift the Khel actor’s spirits by reminding her of Jojo’s love. “Your baby is in kitty heaven now, watching over you!” one user said.

Another wrote, “Hey Yashma, I’m so sorry to hear about your cat. Losing a pet is never easy, and I can only imagine how difficult this must be for you. Sending you lots of love, hugs, and condolences. May cherished memories of Jojo bring a smile to your face and warmth to your heart. May you find comfort and peace during this tough time.”

Yashma’s last post featuring Jojo was in February, when she embraced singlehood by spending Valentine’s Day with her cats. The first clip in the carousel captured Jojo’s unamused expression as Yashma lifted him up in her arms.

The actor wrote that the clip “is a perfect depiction of what Jojo and all my cats feel for me.” She added, “Happy Valentine’s Day to my constants and only valentines.”
