Jaws dropped left and right when Zendaya sported a diamond ring on her left hand at the Golden Globes. And now, it’s official. The two megastars, who portrayed comic sweethearts Spidey and MJ on the big screen, are engaged!

As per earlier reports by TMZ, Tom Holland proposed to Zendaya in an intimate gathering surrounded by close ones. “Everyone close to them knew an engagement was happening,” a source told People, adding that Tom had been meaning to take the big step for some time now.

The source further shared that the Spider-Man: No Way Home star revealed the news to friends around the time of New Year’s Day. “He’s always been crazy about her. He always knew she was the one. They have something very special,” the source fondly said.

Additionally, the two are not in a rush to tie the knot and instead want to savour this special development, especially given the fact that they are caught up in individual work commitments. “Tom’s always had this sweet way of letting the world know that Zendaya is his. Now, it’s official – she really is!” the source gushed.

Earlier during his appearance on the podcast Dish, Tom announced that he would be spending the holidays with Zendaya’s family. He cheekily added that the location of the escapade was a secret. “[Secret] to you guys. I know where we’re going,” he joked.

The two have been co-stars in MCU projects and were close friends before they teased the rumour mill by kissing in public in July 2021. Then in September, the couple made it Insta-official after Tom shared a sweet post on Zendaya’s birthday.
